St Stephens Green
Originally a common outside the city wall, it was laid out as a public park in the 1880's. Now an oasis of lawns and lakes at the very hub of the city, this is where Dublin goes to sit, to stroll, to feed the ducks, to buy paintings, to enjoy.

Dublin Castle
For 700 years the headquarters of British administration in Ireland. Now houses the State Apartments, used for official and public occasions, as well as the former Chapel Royal and Heraldic Museum.

Christ church
Sitric, Norse King of Dublin, created the foundations in 1038, though little of the original remains. Extensively rebuilt in 1875, the Church contains the alleged remains of Strongbow, legendary Earl of Pembroke.

St Patricks
Long associated with Jonathan Swift who was Dean here for 32 years. Though founded in 1190, most of the present structure dates from the 1300's, while the spire was added in the 18th century.
